Myanmar – China Border Trade Fair has been held in every December in Myanmar side and in China side alternately since 2001. According to the agreement of administration and cooperation for border areas between Myanmar and China which was signed in 25th March 1997, border trade fairs have been held and hosted in both sides alternatively. 12th Myanmar – China Border Trade Fair (Muse) will be held in Muse (105) Mile Trade Zone, from 9th Dec to 11th Dec 2012.

In order to promote and co - operate border trade between Myanmar and China, Joint Border Trade Cooperating and Coordinating Committee (JBTCCC) was set up in 2006. In this committee, the Director General from Department of Border Trade, Ministry of Commerce acted as a chairman of Myanmar side. Similarly, the Director General from Ministry of Commerce, Yunnan Province acted as a chairman of China. The first meeting was held in 9th June 2006. Moreover, this meeting was held during the Trade Fair period annually. In this year 2012, 8th JBTCCC meeting will be held with the 12th Myanmar – China Border Trade Fair (Muse) in coming December and both sides will discuss and negotiate the issues related with the promotion of trade, including reduction of trade barriers, trafficking, facilitating of logistics and reduction of taxes, etc.
