Myanmar-China (Yunnan) Economic & Trade Cooperation Promotion launched

Supervised by the Ministry of Commerce and the Government of Yunnan Province of China, a launching ceremony of Myanmar- China (Yunnan) Economic & Trade Cooperation Promotion, jointly organized by Trade Department of Yunnan Province of China and the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, took place at Traders Hotel on 27 March 2012.

At first, a meeting between Yangon Region Chief Minister U Myint Swe-led group and a delegation led by Governor of Yunnan Province Mr. Li Ji Heng focused on matters relating to further promoting relationships and bilateral cooperation in economic sectors between the two countries.

The ceremony started on at the Ballroom of Traders Hotel at 9 a.m, attended by Yangon Region Chief Minister U Myint Swe, Deputy Minister for Commerce Dr Pwint Hsan, Yangon Region ministers, President of UMFCCI, CEC members, departmental heads, Myanmar entrepreneurs and officials concerned.

The Chinese delegation was accompanied by Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Mr. Li Junhua and officials from the Chinese Embassy. On the occasion, Deputy Minister for Commerce Dr Pwint Hsan delivered an opening speech.

UMFCCI President U Win Aung and Yunnan Province Governor Mr Li Ji Heng extended greetings.

The entrepreneurs of Myanmar and Yunnan Province signed contracts for cooperation in economic and trading. After that, they held discussions on their respective sectors.
