Awareness Workshop on Private Sector (EIF) for Trade Development Assistance Implemented by the Ministry of Economy and Commerce in Yangon

          The World Trade Organization (WTO) has officially recognized Myanmar as a beneficiary of the EIF since April 2013, and an introductory workshop on the program was held at the Union Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw from 31 July to 1 August 2013 with the assistance of UNDP. Pre-Diagnostic Trade Integrated Study (Pre-DTIS Phase) under the EIF process; Comprehensive Trade Development Study (DTIS Phase); There are four phases: Tier 1 Phase Implementation Project and Tier 2 Phase Implementation Project.

          The first of these four steps, the Pre-DTIS phase, has been systematically implemented by the Ministry of Commerce since August 2013 after the initial introductory workshop. A seminar on the formation of the National Steering Committee (NSC) and a step forward in the EIF process, one of the key action plans at the Pre-DTIS level, was held at Hotel Shwe Pyi Taw in Nay Pyi Taw from 20 to 21 May 2014.
